RTX 5070 Ti vs RTX 4070 Ti Super: which should you buy?
A generation-upgrade decision between two 16GB NVIDIA cards. Compare the cost of keeping your existing card with replacing it, not just the two asking prices.

Verify model fit before buying
Memory capacity alone cannot tell you which models run. Check the artifact, runtime, context and concurrency, including cache and working buffers. Mac memory is shared with the operating system. See our memory sizing guide.
We have not benchmarked these configurations. Hardware advice reviewed 2026-10-20. Check the sources below for supported hardware and software requirements.
Same capacity, different generation
Both cards provide 16GB. A model that needs more than the available VRAM will still need a smaller artifact, shorter context, offloading or a higher-capacity card. GDDR7 on the 5070 Ti versus GDDR6X on the 4070 Ti Super does not by itself establish an inference speed ratio.
Test before replacing a working setup
Use the same model file, quantization, prompt length and concurrency. Record time to first token and generation speed separately. Verify that the application release and any extensions support Blackwell; a feature advertised for the GPU is useful only if your software uses it.
Buy used or upgrade?
For a first purchase, compare complete checkout prices and return terms. For an upgrade, subtract the net proceeds from selling your existing card and add any power-supply or cooling costs. A small speed improvement may not justify that difference.

FAQ
Does the RTX 5070 Ti fit larger LLMs than the RTX 4070 Ti Super?
Both have 16GB. Backend overhead can vary, but the newer card does not add installed memory. Measure model weights, context cache and buffers together.
Is the RTX 5070 Ti faster for every AI application?
We have not measured that. Compare the same workload on supported software; architecture and advertised throughput do not prove a universal speedup.
